  Dogs in Training

Meet some of the dogs we are currently training in 2008

SEIZURE ALERT DOGS®

  Dougal

Dougal is a young lurcher/whippet cross who came from a rescue home and is now in the early stages of his training to become a Seizure Alert Dog®.

Due to the flooding of the National Training Centre, Dougal's matching with a client has been delayed but it is hoped that he will meet his new owner early in 2008.

  Rodney

Rodney is a Border Terrier cross who was donated to our Seizure Alert Dog® training programme by Roz Murray and her family in Leeds from a litter of eight puppies.

Although an unusual looking dog, Rodney has an absolutely delightful personality. He is very sociable and loves to be cuddled.

Rodney is currently in basic socialisation.

  Venus   Awaiting Update

Venus is a 18 month old flat coated retriever who came from a breeder and is now in the advanced stages of her training to become a Seizure Alert Dog.

Venus has so far passed all her previous training with flying colours and is now giving a 40 minute alert to her owner.

It is hoped that she will pass her final qualification assessment this summer.

  DISABILITY ASSISTANCE DOGS

  Baxter

Qualified February 2008

  Fudge

Fudge is very lively and intelligent 18th month old Springer spaniel who has been donated by Sharon Edwards in Doncaster.

After an initial behavioural assessment, Fudge has now been accepted onto our Disability Assistance Dog training programme.

  Winnie

Winnie is a very sweet natured 2 year old Border Terrier who has been donated by local breeders Steph and Les Moss in Sheffield.

She overcame her initial nervousness during her two week assessment and has now been accepted onto the training programme to become a subsequent Disability Assistance Dog for a client whose current dog will soon be retiring.

  Jesse

Jesse is a silver Miniature poodle currently in training to be a Disability Assistance Dog. He has already learnt to unload the washing machine, fetch the post and also to fetch help for his owner. Jesse is a very quick learner and flew through his initial intensive training in Sheffield.

  DeDe

De De is a two year old black Labrador who has only recently begun her training programme.

She has already learnt to open doors, to pick up dropped items including litter and fetch the telephone on command.

Very sweet natured and friendly she has just completed her intensive training in Sheffield along with her  owner Wendy.

  Molly

Molly is a gorgeous soft coated Wheaton Terrier in the early stages of training as a Disability Assistance Dog.

She is doing very well learning her basic task work, has mastered most public transport and is already developing a very close working relationship with her owner Pat.
