Support Dogs is feeling the pinch as the economic
recession continues to bite and like many other charities we are facing a
shortfall in income this year of around 24% compared to last year.
As we receive no government funding, we are totally reliant on your
generosity to continue our work and during this same period demand for our
programmes has continued to increase. The charity is therefore launching an
urgent funding appeal to help raise the vital funds that are missing.
Without your urgent response to this appeal we may not be able to take on as
many new applicants and dogs for training as we had planned which means we
will have to turn away people who are desperate for our help.
Support Dogs is already known for its professional governance with 79p of
every £1 raised being spent directly on the costs of training assistance
dogs and supporting existing partnerships. This means you can be assured
that every penny or pound you can donate or raise is of real value.
It is our loyal supporters who keep Support Dogs going and so we are now
calling on people who we know care very much about what we do, to dig deep
and make a real
difference to the quality of people’s lives.
How you can help:
Make a donation
Send us a cheque in the post or donate online at
www.justgiving.com/supportdogs
Set up a standing order
Consider setting up regular donations by standing order to allow us to plan
for our future on a firm financial footing. Call or email us and we’ll send
you a form.
Join Membership
Ask your friends, family and work colleagues to join membership. You can
become our Friend for as little as £10!
Organise a fundraising event
Arrange a collection at a local supermarket with some of your friends and
family. Simply contact us and we’ll write to your local store requesting a
date and send you everything you need to collect those donations.
Alternatively why not hold a coffee morning, or do a sponsored walk?
Our fundraising pack contains lots of useful ideas and information to assist
you plus we are always here to help if you have questions or need support.
You can download a copy of the pack by
clicking here.
It is vital that we start to increase voluntary income now to allow us to
continue to provide the same wide range of services to our clients in the
future.
Please don’t delay, please act today.
Thankyou!

Words cannot explain my feelings for my Support
Dog Baxter.
He is my best friend. He is my world – he’s my knight in furry armour – he
is my lifeline and I know I am not the only person whose life is
dramatically enhanced by their Support Dog.
We need your help now to continue our work and be able to reach more people
with Disabilities, Epilepsy and Autism.
